Gunner's Howe, Lake Windermere

Gummer’s Howe, Lake Windermere

This is the picture that I have chosen from those submitted by the members of Curly’s Corner Shop Message Board (the busiest forum in South Shields with over 182000 posts).

We are fortunate that South Shields is located fairly close to the English Lake District and that we can drive there in about a couple of hours, local businessman 43 year old John France did just that  when he captured this scene of a balloon rising over the low clouds forming at Gummer’s Howe on Lake Windermere.

John was in the right place at the right time (early in the morning) and captured the scene using a Casio Exilim digital camera.
