Saturday Sanddancer Scene #9
This week’s Sanddancer Saturday Scene photograph was submitted by Lolita (Danet) who is a regular contributor to the Curly’s Corner Shop Message Board, she lives in the beautiful Yarra Valley near Melbourne in Australia and she just loves the folks from South Shields.
Lolita describes the picture in her own words:
Kylie Ellmers, formerly a New Zealander, now an Australian resident, is a 35 yr old female, current world titles champion for runabout personal watercraft for 2007 and 2008. A couple of English female racers were also in the world titles comp – Lisa Barsby and Anya Collie, and according to Kylie, were tough competition and very fast on their water skis.
And this month (September) the world titles are being held again, in Havasu USA. So good luck to all the riders.
Kylie is a very good friend of the family, and this new ski Kylie is practicing on, is called a Hydro-space Jet Ski, it is a 4-stroke 130 hp machine.
The lake is on our own private 10 acre property we live at, located in the beautiful Yarra Valley Ranges, about an hour east of Melbourne.
(The heart of the vineyards, hot air balloons, and orchidists and berry growers.)
I have always loved taking sports action photos, I am a keen supportive jet-ski sports mum, with a son that races also, and was in the top Australian 3 of the best last year. He is also considering doing the world titles next year.
The camera I took this particular photo is a Panasonic Lumix TZ3, 7MP, with 10 optical zoom lens, which gives an advantage for close up action shots.
Remember if you want to keep up to date with Curly’s latest posts you need to be visiting South Shields Daily Pictures where he already has a sizeable following.
Thanks for the action picture Danet.
