Squirrels in South Shields

This picture has been submitted by one of the members of Curly’s Corner Shop Message Board, the liveliest forum in South Tyneside with over 180,000 posts to keep Geordies, ex pats, and friends amused. Today’s fine picture of a grey squirrel was taken in Harton Cemetery in South Shields just a few mornings ago, the odd thing is, as a 52 year old, I’ve never seen a squirrel in South Shields during the whole of my lifetime and I live next to a large park. I am told by a number of people that there are squirrels in the West Park, I keep looking but have never seen them, I do know we have squirrels in Coulthard Park, Cleadon Village because I’ve photographed them in the past.

This excellent picture was submitted by 49 year old South Shields man Brian Riley who is a keen amateur photographer.

Camera details: Nikon D 90, Sigma 150 – 500 mm lens (435mm equivalent for this shot), 1/30 second, f10, iso 400
