Sunderland International Airshow 2009

Hawk trainer

South Shields Daily Photo is back after a short holiday and Curly and his kids joined the 500,000 visitors to South Shields’ neighbouring beach at Seaburn, Sunderland, to enjoy the 2009 International Air Show. We arrived too late to photograph the RAF Red Arrows on the first day of the show, but here we see some youngsters getting the feel of the Hawk trainer jet used by the RAF’s world famous display team.

We’ll be back on day two to capture some of the action.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 28 mm lens, 1/750 second, f6.7, iso 200

  3. I have a picture of my nephew doing the same thing! Now I live in Warsaw, I don’t get to see the Red Arrows that often. Here’s a picture I took some years back at Waddington Airshow.

The pilots kindly signed it for me the day my son was born.
