Medieval Fair, Jarrow

Medieval Fair, day three

A Roman soldier, high ranking too by the looks of him, resting upon the hilt of his sword. We’ll probably find him fighting battles at the Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields shortly. Captured at last Sunday’s Medieval fair held in Druitt’s Park, Jarrow.

Cropped from a larger image and Photoshop’s Quick Mask mode used to reduce depth of field..

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 28 mm lens, 1/180 second, f8, iso 200

  2. His costume and all its accessories look extremely well made. Looks fantastic.

I hope you’ll be featuring more photos of the medieval fair. I find the whole concept fascinating, especially the traditional arts and crafts.

  3. Wonder how much that helmet weighs? No wonder the Roman Empire declined and fell!
