crocus, South Shields

One of the joys of the modern age of digital cameras is the ability to get in much closer than we were able to do with limited 35 mm equipment. A shot such as the centre of this crocus would have been almost impossible without either a decent macro lens, or a set of tubes. Now we can capture macro shots with small pocket cameras with a mass of features built in.

Found this three coloured flower a couple of weeks in the Redhead Park in South Shields.

Camera details: Konica Minolta Dimage Z3, 62 mm lens (macro), 1/100 second, f4, iso 50
