Marsden, South Shields

Marsden Bay

This is Marsden Bay and beach near the southern coastal boundary of South Shields in South Tyneside, the vista takes in those towns and places on the north of the River Tyne such as North Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bat and Cullercoats.

The north east coast consists mainly of sandstone, limestone, and granite and is very easily eroded by the actions of the sea, Marsden Rock which stands in the centre of the picture was once part of the mainland!

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 60 mm lens, 1/750 second, f8.0, iso 200
