Tyne Dock, South Shields

A glorious sunset over the River Tyne caught at 7:30 yesterday evening from Readhead’s Landing, South Shields.

Tugs are manoeuvring a bulk carrier in to it’s berth at the Port of  Tyne’s Nissan terminal, ready for loading more cars for export to continental Europe.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 55 mm lens, 1/250 second, f8.0, iso 200, Velbon tripod

  1. I like this a lot. Not just the sunset, but all the rest of it. I had to take my time and look carefully to take it all in.

  4. Soft and strong – the soft evening sunset – the strength of the industrial cranes. Hustle and bustle of a bygone era on the breeze to a much quieter Tyne now.
