Whitburn Village

Whitburn Village

Whitburn is just within the southern boundary of South Tyneside and about three miles from South Shields town centre, and now that spring is bringing some gradual warmth to the soil a carpet of crocus is gracing the village green next to the war memorial.

This is one of those parts of South Tyneside which still retains it’s rural appeal and is firmly rooted in it’s early history, as evidenced by some of the names of the streets and alleys. This is the junction of Sandy Chare and Front Street.

Two layers in photoshop the top black and white layer has the bottom portion masked off.
