An air of spring

West Park, South Shields

West Park, South Shields

A gradual change in the weather bringing milder temperatures and more rain from the west has seen thousands of crocus bulbs bursting open all over South Shields. They are all mainly of this blue and white hue with a few yellow ones added to the mix. We have huge displays on the main routes leading into South Shields principally on King George Road and Newcastle Road, although there are carpets of crocii dotted all around.

I found these in the West Park, it won’t be long now before we see cherry and apple trees bursting into colour!

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 28 mm lens, 1/125 second, f5.6, iso 200
