Harton and Westoe Band, South Shields

Harton and Westoe Band

Harton and Westoe Band are the very first entertainers to sit within the “new” Victorian band stand in the South Marine Park, South Shields, and don’t they look fine in their red uniforms. The band stand was constructed using old photographs and plans as reference points to make it as authentic and close to the original as possible.

On the official re-opening day last week there was a large crowd and a few of them were dancing along as the band played “Those magnificent men in their flying machines.”

Cropped from a larger image.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 50 mm lens, 1/90 second, f5.6, iso 200

  1. Lovely picture. Terrific composition with the shapes of the brass at different angles.
