West Park, South Shields

War Memorial

This is the new war memorial in the West Park, South Shields erected after the old huge memorial became a victim to vandalism in the 1980s. Now situated behind locked gates at the bowling club the sandstone obelisk looks quite different surrounded by white, rather than green.

  1. I think the obelisk looks lovely with a powdering of snow. Very nice in monochrome.
