Chinese New Year 2009

So South Shields Daily Photo had an away day up the river to Newcastle upon Tyne to see the Chinese New Year celebrations on Sunday. What a colourful spectacle it was too, this dragon dance took place at the junction of St. Andrew street and Gallowgate, just beyond the fantastic Chinese Arch, it looks like this was a real fire breathing dragon but the smoke actually came from a column of firecrackers.
