Snow on the beach

Sandhaven Beach, South Shields

Sandhaven Beach, South Shields

The unusual sight of snow lying on Sandhaven Beach after an early winter dusting last weekend. The fences on the right have been erected to prevent winter winds blowing the sand inland and to give dune grasses a chance to recover. Trow Rocks in the distance.

  1. I heard about a cold front going through Europe. So snow on this beach is not an annual occurrence? Looks great though. And I like the thoughtfulness of the fence.
