Remembrance Sunday 2008, South Shields

Remembrance Sunday 2008 #6.

Men from differing generations share sombre memories during the Remembrance Sunday service at Westoe Cenotaph, South Shields.

On the left a member of the Royal Irish Regiment which can trace it’s origins back to 1689 and have recently served in Helmand province, Afghanistan. On the right an older veteran who served with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary service of the Royal Navy, they also have units currently serving in Afghanistan.
