A tear for the fallen

Cllr. Alex Donaldson, Mayor of South Tyneside

Remembrance Sunday 2008 #1

The people of South Tyneside yesterday remembered their fallen in ceremonies across the borough, this is our Mayor, Cllr. Alex Donaldson movingly leading the tributes on behalf of us all at the Cenotaph, Westoe, South Shields. The annual Remembrance Sunday parade and services were well attended despite it being a cold and damp November morning, with hundreds attending with me at Westoe.

I will be featuring Remembrance Day pictures all this week as my own tribute to the people of South Shields as they display their spirit, fortitude, and deep pride in the service given to them by their fellow Geordies.
