Gibside Chapel, Gateshead

Gateshead’s best kept secret?

Gibside Hall and Chapel are owned by the National Trust and the estate is only a relatively short drive from South Shields. It is certainly one of Gateshead’s best kept secrets and the former estate of Sir John Bowes is littered with “follies” and great long walks.

Despite the most unusual architecture of this chapel set amongst the follies it is still used for religious services once a month.
