Firework display, South Shields

Oakleigh Gardens Fireworks Display

It is almost November 5th. here in South Shields, and to be able to attract families and children to the organised fireworks displays they need to take place when the children are off school. Hence this Saturday evening display at Oakleigh Gardens in Cleadon Village, which I photographed from South Shields. I had a good view across the fields from the Cleadon Park area and the romantic feel to the picture was added by the young couple stood together sharing each other’s warmth in the cold air. The fireworks burst over them as showers of light, colouring the night sky.

This annual display is organised by the Rotary Club and was attended by the Mayor of South Tyneside Councillor Alex Donaldson and also included a funfair and a barbecue.

Guy Fawkes would have been proud of this one!

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 35mm lens, 4 seconds, f6.7, iso 800, Velbon tripod (couple lit with car headlamps).
