Peacock, Jesmond Dene, Newcastle

Pets Corner, Jesmond Dene

“Missy” enjoys the ride from South Shields to  Newcastle on a Sunday afternoon and yesterday we went to Pets Corner in Jesmond Dene. This popular strip of parkland was donated to the people of the north-east’s regional capital by Lord Armstrong the victorian industrialist, it is an oasis of peace and calm in the midst of a bustling cosmopolitan city, one day I might be lucky enough to capture some of it’s wildlife along the banks of the Ouseburn on camera.

This peacock is caged in an aviary and a fairly large aperture is required to throw the foreground metal grille out of focus. Cropped from a larger image.

Camera details; Pentax K100D, 450mm lens, /180 second, f5.6, iso 400

  1. A great pic of the peacock. I love the way you present each photo in a different and creative way. Really nicely done.
