Jackson’s Heights

Great Dane, King Street, South Shields

Walking the dog

This is Jackson, a Great Dane and his owner, out on a shopping trip in South Shields.

Jackson was quite an impressive sight in King Street as he pulled  his family this way and that, yet he was a gentle giant when it came to greeting and investigating much smaller dogs.

Did you ever fancy a huge beast like Jackson?

I wonder how much meat he eats?

  1. Lovely dog and proud owner. he probably doesn’t eat meat, as such, but eats croquettes (dry food). Danes are not dogs, they are almost people. Sadly tho, they don’t live that long.

yes I love big dogs – used to own an Irish Wolfhound which I believe is even bigger. Another gentle giant as you say.

Am wondering why you put the frame around the shot or did you photograph through a framework of something?

  2. There were too many other distractions and people in the background Jilly, I needed to somehow isolate dog and owner.

  3. Is that another prime retail outlet site,in the background, available to someone like A.N.Other Charity Co Ltd ? Looks like Coun Anglin is spending too much time on Deputy Mayoral duties. He needs to get back to his Town Centre duties and get this unit occupied.

  4. He’s so beautiful! I like the frame around the dog & his owner – very creative way to clear up the background!
