Fishing from The Groyne

Fishing is still the greatest participant sport in the UK wheter it is fresh water fishing in rivers, ponds, and lakes, or sea fishing as we see here. On a daily basis you will find people casting their lines from the Groyne Pier in South Shields, or the South Pier, or even from the beaches and cliffs, always hoping to land a decent sized cod, codling, flounder, dab, whiting, or mackerel.

Our length of coastline often plays host to some major fishing competitions too.

I took this shot from high up the steps of the Groyne looking down on the young man wearing a Sunderland shirt.

Many thanks for your kind comments to yesterday’s post, here we go with year no. 3.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 35mm lens, 1/250 second, f9.5, iso 200

  3. Congradulations on two years! I would still rate your blog as one of the best of the best. I would judge your photos consistently as #1 on the City Daily Photo Blogs. Keep up the A1 + work. Thanks for a job well done.
