Littlehaven Beach and The Groyne, South Shields

Littlehaven Beach

It wasn’t the sunniest day to be lying around on the beach, but at least it didn’t rain!

This is Littlehaven Beach and The Groyne in South Shields, where the River Tyne exits the harbour into the North Sea, in the background you can see Tynemouth. We went there yesterday to relax a little and allowed the children some time to explore around the water’s edge. It was high tide and there was a fair amount of traffic entering and leaving the river, so you will see some ships over the coming days.

It was good to have a dry day at last.

Camera details; Pentax K100D, 28mm lens, 1/1000 second, f6.7, iso 100

  3. Oh dear, the sand isn’t hot or dry enough for you to want to remove your shoes ?
It certainly doesn’t feel like summer to me! It’s a great shot, though!

  4. And a damn good shoeshine, I’m pleased to see, or maybe even new boots. Clever composition. You might be doing your own crime scene investigation.

  6. I love the shoes in the photo! Great foreground, great background, and thanks for the camera details. Some of us take pics, but those who reveal their camera details aim for art. Congrat on two years and thanks for visiting my site.

  7. Nice photo of the lighthouse. My husband and I spent the night in South Shields five years ago. We had spent some time in Scotland, but were on our way to visit my husband’s father’s boyhood home nearby in northern England. We took time, though, to walk out to the lighthouse. I think I have some photos similar to yours.
