Easter weather
Watch out, the North Sea’s about!
In any normal year Easter would occur a little later than this, spring would be here, the weather would be brighter and warmer, and this beach would be full of people. The Easter weekend normally marks the beginning of our summer “season” when we can expect thousands of tourists and visitors, with many of them aiming for the funfair (just below that little ray of sunshine).
Unfortunately South Shields hasn’t been so lucky this time around, yesterday it was still very wintery with a northerly wind, showers of hailstones, dark skies and squally showers. The tide was high and the North sea was breaking over on to the promenade, not quite the sort of day for taking the children for a walk along Littlehaven Beach!
This picture actually shows the calm within the harbour!

Weather seems a bit out of step in many parts of our world. Hoping that will change for the better, though I’m really not holding my breath. Happy Easter … and stay warm and dry -:)

Kitten, the waves often break over the top on big tides, the car parks are often flooded!

Now that is a dark and heavy cloud. No ceiling as they say. Still it is very beautiful. MB
