Chinese gateway, Newcastle

The Gateway

This is our final look at the Chinese New Year as celebrated in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, tomorrow we return to views from South Shields.

I wanted to bring you this closer view of the Chinese Gateway at the head of Stowell Street and St. Andrew’s Street to show the intricate detail and fine workmanship. As far as the picture and Photoshop are concerned I have used a plug in filter from Alien Skin called “exposure” which replicates the rich natural tones given by Fuji Velvia 35mm film.

Camera details; Pentax K100D, 82mm lens, 1/125 second, f8.0, iso 200

  2. Indeed, very fine workmanship.

Is this gateway permanent or just put up for Chinese New Year?
