Royal Python

Another of the reptiles on loan from the Hancock Museum in Newcastle enjoying life in South Shields Museum and Art Gallery.

This is the smallest of the python familt and it is non venomous.

I took the shot through the glass of it’s enclosure with a high iso, hence the reasonable amount of camera noise (I really ought to have processed this through Noiseware, but I am in a hurry this evening.)

Camera details; Pentax K100D, 82 mm lens, 1/15 second, f5.6, iso 1600.

  2. what a beautiful creature. Don’t worry about the noise – I love it anyway.

  3. A python? In South Shields?

Ah, in a museum! That makes sense.

Still, it’s unusual and very pretty to look at (despite your concern about the noise).
