Strike a pose

Vogue nightclub, South Shields

Yes we have night life and nightclubs here in South Shields. This is Vogue in Anderson Street, possibly named after one of Madonna’s biggest hits.

We are pretty sure that the “material girl” has never visited the town, so she’s been added here in this Photoshop composite, although in the past performers such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, The Animals, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdink, Gene Pitney, 10cc, Ben Mills, The Hollies, Leo Sayer and Dusty Springfield (to name just a few) have entertained in the town!

I think Madonna makes a good addition to their windows!

Grace Kelly; Harlow, Jean

Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire
Ginger Rogers, dance on air

They had style, they had grace
Rita Hayworth gave good face
Lauren, Katherine, Lana too
Bette Davis, we love you

Ladies with an attitude
Fella’s that were in the mood
Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it
Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it

Vogue, vogue, vogue, vogue
