Copley Avenue, South Shields

Copley Avenue, South Shields

Decorating the outside of the house has become quite fashionable in the UK over the past five years, and some parts of South Shields are really joining in with the spirit of Christmas. They virtually illuminate the whole street to spread a bit of cheer.

Here’s Copley Avenue in Whiteleas, South Shields.

Camera details:Pentax K100D, 28mm lens, 1.5 seconds, f8, iso 400, white balance tungsten, tripod.

  1. Very pretty site of the houses with decorations. Great photo.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. To answer your question: it’s not really desolate, some people still come down to the waterfront during the winter to walk along the sidewalk (though they usually don’t get on a windy day when it might be -30C) and once the ice is thick enough, then you will start to see fisherman out doing some ice-fishing.

  2. Neat photo of night Christmas lights. Wonder if you have one, which is not Photo Shopped? I’ll bet it is lovely too.

  3. You are looking at one which is not Photoshopped – cheeky!
(It has been sharpened, nothing more.)

  4. It looks as if one of the neighbours doesn’t want to join in with the festive cheer haha. The decorations throughout the town get better every year, especially in the housing estates
