Cliff tops at sunset

Just an indication of the ruggedness of our coastline which consists mainly of sandstone and limestone which are very vulnerable to coastal erosion, as you can see by looking at the fences along the edge of the cliffs and the rock falls below. This section is next to the Ministry of Defence shooting range at Whitburn at the southern edge of South Shields.

  1. You’re lucky to get a sunset. We’ve not really seen the sun at all for 3 days.
