Ships at Tyne Dock

The Tyne Dock freight loading facilities in South Shields have been owned and operated by the Port of Tyne for many years and this location was commonly known as Jarrow Slake, the point where the River Don enters the River Tyne. This part of the Port of Tyne mainly loads goods from the Nissan automative factory just a few miles away in Washington.

Here we see The City of Barcelona tied up and waiting for the next tide for her journey to the near continent, probably laden with Nissan Micras.
