reflections in trumpet

Reflecting

Some of you were looking for me in the soldiers’ boots yesterday, perhaps you will stand a better chance of finding me in this picture. I am no expert when it comes to musical instruments, this is either a trumpet, a cornet, or a horn, belonging to a member of the Salvation Army band who provided some of the music for the ceremony on Sunday.

The South Tyneside Pipes and Drums played the marches and the lament at Westoe Cenotaph, South Shields, and the Salvation Army played the music for the hymns. I now understand that in the USA they also have similar events on the 11th. November, known as Veterans Day.

This shot was taken just after we’d had a brief rain shower, I’ll show one more shot from Remembrance Sunday in South Shields tomorrow before moving on to other subjects.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 75mm lens, 1/2000 second, f5.6, iso 200

  4. Fantastic photo. It’s a reflection inside of another reflection.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. To answer your question: A friend was taking their plane out for a little jaunt and had offered to take some of us up for a little trip. In essence, just lucky. I had originally thought I was only going to take the photos for my own personal use but realized once I was at home & loading the photos onto my computer that some on the blog may like an aerial view of North Bay.
