Did it snow yesterday?

couple watching sea, South Shields

No, it didn’t to be honest

This is actually a picture of the shadow of a couple watching the waves washing over Littlehaven Beach in South Shields during a “storm surge” event that affected the North Sea yesterday. We get large tides now and then, but not normally as high as yesterday’s, it’s unusual to see the water splashing over the sea wall on a regular basis, and I managed to get my feet wet when taking photos!

  1. Great photo, Curly. I’m curious–what is the light source that makes the shadow? Thanks.

  3. LOL at previous comment. I heard about the expected high tides on the east coast, but they turned out not to be as fierce as predicted. Great photo.

  4. Great shot! I was really excited for a minute when I thought I would seem some snow from South Shields but then I laughed when I read your explanation.
