A bright new day

Dawn in South Shields

Daybreak

Taken not too long after sunrise on the Herd Sands, South Shields, looking to the south east and Trow Rocks. I find one of the odd things about names is that they change so often during the history of a place or location, this beach, for instance, is now known as Sandhaven Beach.

We’ve always referred to it as “the big beach”, we spent almost every summer day digging here when we were children.
