Martin Lel wins elite men’s event

Martin Lel, the winner of the London Marathon burst clear of fellow Kenyan Sammy Wanjiru to win the mens event, which finished on the Coast Road in South Shields. His time was one hour one minute ten seconds for the 13.5 mile course.
