Early leaf fall

I don’t know if this is a common feature this year in the northern hemisphere, but leaf fall (autumn) appears to be happening a few weeks earlier than usual. This was captured in the West Park, South Shields, and whilst there is yet little change in the colouration of the trees many berries and fruits are showing and a lot of leaves are carpeting the ground.

Are you witnessing these changes yet?

  1. The leaves on the trees up here in Fife began to fall in July and some trees are already bare (!)

  3. Leaves are turning and falling in Portland. Soon I hope to find just the right spot to photograph to share with everyone.

Curly, I agree about the wires in my photo of Mt. Hood at Portland (OR) Daily Photo. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a higher spot to get the photo. I’ll be on the lookout for that, too.

  5. Thank you for your interest in my blog. You have great photos on your site, I come back to see more. And about autumn, I think so too that it is early this year but it is not so bad if it is not raining.

  9. Thanks for comment Curly, I hope it’s not too cold as you mentions about frost. Our cherry tree blossoming about 90% at moment and I feel the beginning of spring.

  10. Nice photo. The leaves are starting to change in a few place here. It seems to be very sporadic. I’m hoping to be able to get out and photograph some of it soon.
