The QE2 in South Shields harbour

Cunard’s finest on The Tyne

After a three hour wait whilst the winds died down, Cunard’s finest passenger liner The Queen Elizabeth ll finally entered the Tyne at South Shields harbour at 7.00 p.m. 16th. September. She is on her 40th. Anniversary tour before sailing to Dubai where she is destined to become a floating hotel.

Here she is about to pass the Groyne lighthouse with Tynemouth in the background, oddly, as dusk approached, the light improved after heavy clouds moved away.

Picture taken with very cold numb fingers from the top of the North Marine Park, South Shields.

Camera details; Pentax K100D, 50mm lens, 1/90 second, f13, iso 200
