The Alum Ale House, South Shields

First port of call

The Alum Ale House is located on the Ferry Landing in South Shields, the site was formerly a chemical works from which the pub derives it’s name. This spot has had a pub there for many, many, years, and in the days of wooden hulled long masted traders, the ale house would likely have been the first port of call for many a tar!

This is a pub which sells a variety of real ales and it has it’s own website too!

The grungy effect was created in Photoshop with a yellow layer, masked and painted on with some odd shaped brushes.
