Big boys toys

Danger: demolition crew at work

We men still have this problem of hanging on to our boyhood, and it encompasses all of the big boys toys, giant Tonka Toys working here to pull apart some old offices in Hill Street, South Shields. This area alongside the River Tyne is being prepared for wholesale long term regeneration promising new housing, hotels, restaurants, leisure facilities and a gamut of other features.

But there is a brutal beauty in watching the twisting, twirling, revolving, robotic arm and grab of the JCB tearing buildings apart, I think every young lad must have dreamed of operating these monsters!
