Little lilac coloured bloom

Lilac wild flower, Whitburn Nature Reserve

Whitburn nature reserve

Just a little wild flower that I spotted in the Whitburn nature reserve, it’s a quiet spot on our coastline much favoured by ornithologists, they even have their own hide there. I’ll be back there this weekend to try and grab some shots of the Sunderland International Air show. Watch out for them next week!

This is my first attempt at a macro with the new camera.

Camera; Pentax K100D, 450mm lens (macro), iso 200, f8, 1/750 second.

  1. I’d say your first attempt with this camera is successful. The petals are quite delicately shaded–lovely. Who are those guests, however!

  2. Lookign good on the macro. I thought it looked a bit like a camellia sasanqua bloom at first, but it can’t be.

  3. Curky – a question.

How do you create the link to your blog when leaving a comment? What code mark up do you use? I can’t seem to find the answer to this anywhere!

  5. Nice shot. I have been considering a macro lens for my Canon D60, but have not figured out which one to go with yet.

  12. Lots of little bugs… The lilac probably means it’s not this, but on the off chance:
