Mouth of the Tyne Festival 2007

This weekend we are enjoying the third Mouth of the Tyne Festival in South Shields and Tynemouth. You can see a full report with additional pictures and video of the opening parade – here.

This is an art installation in the Bents Park, South Shields, hundreds of white flags fluttering in a stiff breeze, and waiting for the procession to arrive.

  1. I really like this. The white flags against such a blue sky. So does this mean UK surrenders? Have a nice sunday!

  5. Artist Angus Watt completed his awe-inspiring flag installation in Bents Park, South Shields, which is bedecked with giant white flags.

The artist has already showcased his work at the Eden Project in Cornwall, and, most recently, at Glastonbury Festival last month.

Mr Watt said: “My flags celebrate life and a belief in the true natural world.”
