Fields of gold

Field of rape, Cleadon Hills, South Shields

Bloomin’ rape

Fields of rape always give me the false impression that summer is just around the corner, perhaps they flower too early and without warning gale force winds and heavy showers arrive on the scene. This field lies just below Cleadon Hill, South Shields, you can see the Old Mill on the skyline.

  5. To Heyokity: they smell terrible (in my opinion)! But, they are pretty.

Just doing a rough “survey” around the CDPs, rapeseed/canola fields and wisteria are featuring prominently around the lot.
