Model panda, Crossgate, South Shields

The Giant Panda

They live in a large enclosure nestled underneath the Metro bridge in Crossgate, South Shields, a giant panda, and an elephant. Nobody knows who feeds them, but they have lived there for a number of years now, oblivious to the noise of trains, buses, lorries, and cars!

I kind of like this type of public art, don’t you?

  1. Sweet! They “live” in better conditions than the ones I saw in the Beijing Zoo in 1978. I believe those ones are treated better these days. I hope so- it was heartbreaking.

  2. I prefer to see this one than many in some zoos…About wisteria, i’m very surprised by what you said yesterday (thank you for visiting my dp blog!), here like in many countries, wisteria are very common plants. Are you sure you don’t have some of them in your town? Your climate is not so different from mine…

  3. A nice piece of artwork. It looked real or alive in the portal.

It poured rain yesterday and I took some photos through the windshield experimenting.
