Sandhaven Beach, South Shields

Lighthouses in the snow

It is fairly rare to see Sandhaven Beach in South Shields coated with snow, so when it does happen you have to work quick with the camera before the salt in the sand melts all of the snow away. Here we can see both the north pier at Tynemouth and our own south pier making an appearance on the horizon. Looks like more snow was on the way, so I didn’t hang about.

Camera details: Pentax K100D, 82 mm lens, 1/1000 second, f8, iso 200
