Snow stops play
Wood Terrace, South Shields, is the home to South Shields Cricket Club and the Westoe Rugby Club. This is the oldest sporting ground in South Shields and it is still a busy place, not, however, on days like this.
It is of course NOT the season for playing cricket in the UK, but the picture does suggest that the people who were manning the scoreboard abandoned the post in quite a hurry with no intention of returning!
