On Parade in South Shields
All nicely presented with boots “spit and polished”, members of the Army Cadet Force on parade at Wesoe, South Shields.
The art of achieving this degree of polish on heavy leather boots is dying out, apart from in the armed services, fathers no longer pass the skills on to their sons, and even police officers are no longer required to present themselves with such smart footwear these days.
